Redesigned by HMB. This new pump not only substitutes the original 16 mm pump , it also brings some improvements. Due to precise CNC machining, production tolerances could be minimized, to be precise, they are halved in comparison to what the factory would allow for an original pump. Thus, overall performance is improved. This is especially important when oil temperature is high and/or engine running speed is low. Used, and partly worn engines also benefit from this, as they are even more vulnerable to pressure losses in the engine. During a cold start , the oil is routed more quickly to the critical spots, thus also reducing wear by pressurizing slide bearings quicker . The wheels are helical cut and plasma-nitrited and they run in a sturdy aluminium housing made from solid quality aluminium. Like the original pump, the driven wheel is mounted with a needle bearing. The woodruff key does not slide to the rear when mounting the oilpump gear, as is the case with many designs.
